Arden Shows XKR Power Upgrade

German tuner Arden has put its new Jaguar XKR 5.0L Convertible on display at the Oldtimer Grand Prix which took place at the Nurburgring circuit this past weekend (August 7 to the 9th).

Certainly no old timer, though, this Arden version of the XKR 5.0L, which Jaguar introduced earlier this year, features some true performance tuning, including the provision of a redesigned chassis.

That chassis is meant to make this Wild Cat more nimble and responsive. Also added are 9×21-inch alloy wheels and a quad-piped sport exhaust system out of stainless steel (with performance catalytics) that produces an “out-of-this world sound”, according to Arden. You’ll just have to take their word on that until you can hear it for yourself. The AJ20 Wild Cat rear plus diffuser rounds out the performance parts package. Optional is the V-Max suspension.

For those also looking for a little extra muscle right from the horse’s mouth, so to speak, Arden also offers a power boosting of 22kw (30 bhp) and 50 Nm of torque on top of the existing 380kw (510 bhp), with 625 Nm. Top speed is also dialed on up to 320 km/h from (what one assumes is) the electronically limited 250 km/h limit of the standard XKR 5.0L.

Arden puts it stamp on the project with its own stainless steel grill (chrome-plated too) and an Arden badge to really distinguish this model on the road.

This Arden Jaguar XKR 5.0L Convertible is based on the previous Arden AJ20 Coupe.
