Rounding off the new Megane family is the Coupe-Cabriolet that was formally introduced today ahead of its world premiere at next month’s Geneva Salon. Like its predecessor, the new Megane CC is a two door model with an electric folding top that’s mostly covered in smoked glass.

Just a few months after the debut of the Audi e-tron at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, Audi unveiled a second full-electric sports car concept at the Detroit show today. Bypassing the silly and confusing ‘Detroit showcar Audi e-tron’ name, the German firm’s new concept model is said to provide a vision of how a small sports car positioned below R8 could look like. Like the original e-tron, the new two-seater concept is built around Audi’s ASF lightweight aluminium space frame and features a carbon fibre reinforced plastic hybrid body that helps keep weight down to 1,350kg or 2,976 lbs.

VW will be debuting the New Concept Coupe (NCC) at the Detroit auto show today.

The New Concept Coupe is a full hybrid car, which in European media has been referred to as a Golf Coupe prototype. The car is likely based on the same platform as the Golf/Jetta and, although still in the concept stage, it will most probably come to be called the Jetta Coupe if it ever goes to market in North America.

So you grab the steering wheel, point the Interceptor in the general direction of the ruined Adelaide or Canberra or Sydney or wherever it is that lies beyond the horizon and slam down the accelerator. Of course, your destination really isn’t any of those places; it’s vengeance. Stabbing the four-speed’s shifter into 3rd, you move your fingers to the red plunger strapped to the handle. With the engine wailing, you shift into 4th, pull that red plunger and engage the blower. The car shoots forward with all 600 horsepower and a wail as desperate as your anger.

According to a recent report, Cadillac will launch their highly anticipated CTS Coupe in May 2010. Originally slated to go into production this summer, the model was delayed as a result of GM’s bankruptcy. Like the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, GM apparently decided the CTS Coupe was a low priority because of its limited sales potential.
