Drifting is many things, but good on your tires it isn’t. Anybody needing evidence should take a look at this video of the Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni edition being driven by Balboni himself.
Just after three minutes into the video, sparks can be seen flying off the (410kw) 550-horsepower car’s tires. The sparks were likely caused by steel belts exposed after a significant amount of rubber was shredded away.
600 – 340 – 3.5… These are the three most prominent figures of the new edo Lamborghini Gallardo LP600/4. 600 stands for its power output, 340 for its top speed and 3.5 seconds is how long it takes to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a dead stop. edo competition has managed to improve performance by increasing power output to 600 horsepower (447kw) at 7,970 rpm and the torque output to 572 Nm (422 ft-lb) at 6,845 rpm.
Like the original Reventón Coupe, which debuted in Frankfurt two years ago, the roadster redefines style, elegance, and insanity. Designed to be a stealth fighter for the road, the Reventón boasts jet-inspired carbon fiber body panels and aggressive 18-inch wheels. Inside, the roadster is decked out in alcantara upholstery and carbon fiber trim.
When Lamborghini’s next-gen Gallardo LP 560-4 dropped earlier this year, the sleek two-seater impressed: it wore sharper clothes inherited from the seven-figure Reventon, produced 30kw more, and shed a few pounds. Even its E-gear transmission got 40 percent quicker in “Corsa” mode, making it a more serious contender in the supercar world.
