In the spirit of Calder, Stella, Lichtenstein, Warhol, and Holzer, BMW announced today that the 17th Art Car created by Jeff Koons will race where the first rolling pieces of art by legendary artists raced – at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France, June 12-13, 2010. Koons’ canvas is a BMW M3 GT2, which was homologated to compete at this year’s running of the world’s most famous endurance race.

German tuners Manhart Racing have released photos and details of their version of the BMW M3 coupe. The engineering firm boosted the E92′s engine output to 655 PS (482 kW / 646 hp), while reducing 0-100 km/h time to 3.7 seconds.

BMW has quietly introduced the new Z4 GT3. Created by BMW’s Motorsport division, the Z4 GT3 was built to compete in events such as the FIA GT3 European Championship, the International GT Open, and the ADAC GT Masters.

Germany’s ATT-TEC has developed a new performance package for the latest generation BMW M3 models. The main event of the firm’s tune is the addition of a compressor and a unique exhaust system that give the M3′s 4.0-liter V8 engine an 80HP boost for a total output of 500 horsepower. ATT said that the price for engine retrofitting is €11,749 or about US$ 17,600, including installation.
